COARE's Executive Director was given the privilege of speaking on behalf of all NGOs at the inaugural meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to develop an international legally-binding instrument (treaty) to end Plastic Pollution.

COARE received DEMA Community Champion Award

Leaders Commit to Negotiate a new Global Plastics Treaty

Today, the United Nations Environment Assembly voted to begin negotiations for a new legally binding treaty to address plastic pollution. COARE is proud to have helped negotiate this resolution's language, and, after working on this for nearly six years, to have been on the ground for the adoption.
